Meet Pastor Sessoms
Pastor/Teacher Felton T. Sessoms was called to preach and teach the gospel in 1998. He obtained his degree in Religious Studies from the Proctor Dewitt School of Theology in 1999. Under the pastorate of Reverend J. E. Nickens, he was licensed on June 10, 2001 at Bethel Baptist Church in Franktown, Virginia. Pastor Sessoms was called to Pastor First Baptist Church in Cape Charles, Virginia in July 2003. He was ordained there on July 19, 2003. He has dedicated his life to Christ and the work he has been called to do; being a servant is nothing new to Pastor Sessoms.
Pastor Sessoms has been a servant in some capacity all his adult life. He is the type of leader who leads by example. He is the former Mayor of Nassawadox, Virginia, having served two terms and a former member of the Northampton County Board of Supervisors. He has dedicated his life to effecting change by being a part of the system.
Pastor Sessoms is married to Dr. Jeanette Sessoms. They have three sons; Tyrone (Tarral) of Virginia Beach, VA., Diallo (Chalarra) of Salisbury, MD., and Larry of Machipongo, VA. They have two beautiful grand-daughters; KyAsia and Jadae Nottingham and two handsome grandsons; Tyrone Eric Sessoms, Jr. (TJ), and Larry DaVawn Nottingham, Jr. Pastor Sessoms is the son of Mary Sessoms of Nassawadox, VA., and the late James E. Sessoms. He has two sisters; Mary Huff of Delaware and Brenda (Lawrence)Wise of Pocomoke, MD.
Pastor Sessoms was born and reared in Nassawadox, Virginia. He attended Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia, where he obtained his graduate and undergraduate degrees in Biology. On May 29, 2012, Pastor Sessoms retired from the Northampton County Health Department as Senior Environmental Health Specialist after serving 25 plus years.
